Kisses That Do Not Happen

So,

I've noticed that movies don't have these liplocking, twisting, raw Clark Gable -type kisses anymore, but kisses that do not happen.

First kiss that didn't happen - and I noticed was in Identity, where Ed and Paris argue in the rain and he leans to her as to kiss her but never does. Kissing her would have ended the angry, fear filled situation but not kissing her ended it up too. Just the almost -moment there... Just a second in the movie. I didn't really enjoy the rest, though I have it on DVD.

Another kiss that doesn't happen comes in the middle of an argument - in rain - as Mr. Darcy confesses his love and proposes to Lizzie, who is pissed off by the way he arguments the difference in their situation in life. The kiss doesn't happen because of the propriety rules of the time. Check Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley to see the moment.

My favorite kiss that doesn't happen is in Stardust. While Tristan and Yvaine are walking towards the village of Wall, Tristan pushes Yvaine to a bush to hide from the people coming towards them. He falls on her and she asks isn't he tempted (to kill her and have her heart for eternal life) and it seems to the viewer that she asks him doesn't he feel tempted to kiss her and he almost does. Check Stardust with Claire Danes and Charlie Cox.

I think I like kisses that don't happen in life too.

This one guy who would have kissed me but didn't have a chance since we were interrupted, I never got to know what kind of a kisser he was and now I'm free to imagine he would have been the perfect one. He was also devilishly handsome, so way out of my league.

There have been kisses that I wish didn't happen..

...and kisses that were meant to happen.

I love kisses. I'm in a kissing mood today. Wish I had someone to kiss.

Some Good, Some Bad

I actually enjoyed watching Ghost Town on DVD. Even though it was pretty close to that Eva Longoria ghost-thingy -movie, included dentist humor and Tea Leoni with some ghost whispering, I liked it enough to have a big surprise at the almost-end (actually me and J went WTF at that point, damn those movie bus drivers!!). This one I could actually buy on DVD rather than rent.

Another good surprise was Mirrors, starring Mr 24.. At some point it was so creepy I had to pause for awhile. The weirdest thing was, there were some creepy images I can't shed out of my mind for a couple of days. The creepiest part in the film was after I watched it, because I got freaked out by a reflection in the window that had a human in it. Of course, it was the TV and Ghost Town on it, but it was enough to make me go goose-bump all over.

Now the bad.. The Duchess. I don't mind period dramas but this definitely was Keira Knightley on one too many of that genre. She needs to do something else than wear a corset and either silly bonnets or stupid hairdos. I didn't like the movie most of its part. Even the guy (Dominic Cooper of Sense and Sensibility on BBC - I think) Georgina falls in love with has been in one too many period dramas. The only thing I ended up watching was the fabric of the dresses and the sets and sceneries of the film. The rest was wayyyyy too much Keira. Keira please, DO SOMETHING ELSE, like a good shoot-out with a hard-boiled toughguy. No more corset dramas, please. For some reason, I like Aidan McArdle, who plays Sheridan, I haven't seen him much, but I liked the BBC mini Jane Eyre, in which he played John Eshton the twin researcher. This guy could do a couple more corset dramas, I think.

Twilight, What? Mental(ist)

Holy poo that movie sucks. I don't have ANYTHING positive to say about that movie. It was like 90210 + True Blood messed with a all-time-worst dialogue, stupid "romantic" jumping up and down trees, some vampire baseball.. Shit, shit, shit. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it. Don't waste your money on it.

I have also forgotten to mention my third favorite show, Mentalist. I don't know why I like it. It's not really good and that guy should be quite the mentalist to actually be able to pull stunts like that. I like Robin Tunney and there's something in her face that makes me just want to stare. I've seen The Craft for at least, like, twenty times. For some creepy reason, I love her chicken legs in it.

Simon Baker, who is the mentalist, Patric Jane (I always thought it was Jayne) has the most evil grin on his face sometimes. Great, wicked smile. Awesome! After CSI went to all-poo halfway through the eight season, this is my replacement. Simon Baker, who you'd might know from The Guardian and Land of the Dead. Of course I recognice him from Ring Two and The Devil Wears Prada (but I'd never confess to watching them)..

There's this X-Filish sparkles-theme between Jane and Lisbon that always works for me. Basically, any show having that kind of a relationship between the main characters, I'm sold.

Friday

Snow's Gone

The temperature is up to +4. The snow is almost gone. There's soft wind and sunshine. It used to be -15 this time of the year. So I guess winter's gone too. Greenhouse effect, anyone?

I'm cold.

Oh and I had the weirdest nightmare EVER! I don't remember much anymore since I've been up for eight hours now, but I remember the bit where there were worms in my veins and I cut little cuts and squeezed them out of me. I woke up itching, so I took a three-hour bath and changed the sheets. I have been watching some scary movies, but I skipped all the gory ones. I think the movies are not to blamed for this dream. I think it's Trauma Center - Second Opinion, which I've been playing on Wii. There's an operation where you have to make small cuts in order to get some nasty things out of a patient. I hate that game.

Speaking of games, We have bought only a few games for our Wii: Resident Evil 4, Raving Rabbids and Raving Rabbids TV Party, Fit and Sports. I love Raving Rabbids, I've had some of my best laughs playing Raving Rabbids 2 that we borrowed from one of J's friends. The balance board has been my favorite since I realized how to work my balance. Tip: Don't bother with the yoga, it will only make you frustrated or feel inadequate. Besides, Fit's Age calculator sucks. My body is 21 years old in it's opinion.

Rest In Peace, Stan Winston

It's a shame that basically no one noticed the news on Stan Winston's death.

Hey, Stan Winston, people! You've been watching his work for decades now!

How about a short reminder Make-up, special effects in, creature designs: Constantine, Terminator(s), Iron Man, Artificial Intelligence, Aliens, Predator...

Rest In Peace, Stan Winston. The world will miss your imagination.

Monday

Some Good, Some Bad and Some Shiteous

Let's start with the Good.

Indiana Jones:

I hadn't read a single review and tried to keep myself from getting any information on the film. As soon as I saw the scull I knew that H.R. Giger got himself copied. The sculls anyone? Well, of course the movie was behind Lucasarts and Stan Winston, but the scull was SO close to the alien one, I couldn't help myself but enjoy the rest of the movie too.

Iron Man: Good enough. I had low expectations, so it surprised me in the positive way..

The Happening:

Shyamalan rocks. I mean seriously rocks. Yesterday when I walked out of the theater, the strong wind gave me the chills. So far his movies (the ones I've seen) have made me:

See dead people in my dreams
Break my toe
Like Joaquin Phoenix
Cry
Scared
Wait for the plants' revenge.

+learn how to look for the little things in the movies

But hey, what the hell was the microphone thing in The Happening?

Well done, Mr. Shyamalan. Night-san!

Kung Fu Panda

The chopstick fight was the best ever!

And The Not Bad, but not good:

Dark Floors

The second Finnish movie in English (that I've seen) and the only bad thing was the Lordi members. The rest of it: Ten points for Finland. Ten poäng Finland. Seriously, I didn't even know Marcus Selin can DO things like that. You can also see the annoying captain from "Aliens" in this little piece of Finnish movie history.

The Shiteous:

Whisper

Again one of the movies that have made me want to destroy all the children.

And some others just on DVD and blu-ray

Hans Zimmer Is My Musical God.. After Beethoven

I'm not sure if I have spoken of this earlier (and I'm too tired to actually check it), but Hans Zimmer's soundtrack for DaVinci Code (which I still haven't seen except the end) includes a song that stopped my life for the six minutes it runs. I was listening to the soundtrack from the beginning and paid no attention to it until that track came. It made me stop what I was doing and just listen. Then the music rose to the hights (I wish I knew the correct musical term for it), and out of nowhere, there were just tears coming out of my eyes. I didn't think of anything, but the tears just ran - and I just sat there in awe. That track has to be the best piece ever right behind Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. The latter has made me feel feelings stronger, but only once or twice in my life I have heard something that made me cry and Chevaliers De Sangreal did that.

Thank you Hans Zimmer for making this piece. I have heard others have felt it too and I've read that many think it's your best piece ever.

Good night.

EDIT: Apparently the correct term for pieces like Chevaliers De Sangreal would be "played appassionata"

EDIT 2: I knew I have liked the productions of Hans Zimmer for ages and my old Rain Man soundtrack proves it :)

EDIT 3: Should I really sit down and watch the movie for which it has been written?

EDIT 4: I still love this tune (which has made me teary too)

Things In Movies I Want

House

The house I'd like to have is the beach house in Nanny Diaries. From the inside, though, I'd make it look more classy rather than sea-ish.

Car

The Aston Martin in Casino Royale. Pearl Blue and chrome rims. Yum. Yum yum.

Jewelry

Elizabeth wears her necklace while deciding what to wear for meeting Raleigh to listen to his story. I'd sell my (worthless) mother for that necklace.

Weapons

The two Desert Eagles the ultimately cool Yun-Fat Chow uses in Bulletproof Monk (without actually firing bullets) and Jessica Biel's character weapons in Blade: Trinity.

Sidekick

Foxy Cleopatra of Goldmember

Wednesday

A long long time ago

I had a little movie marathon of my own. The results:

A Bridge to Terabithia

Surprised me positively. Like really. I thought it was just another movie added to the long line of fantasy/whatevers, but for a kids movie it was rather good. Though the sappy ending could have been avoided by just making the boy drown. Or someone else.

Is this the bridge to the Gigabyte? Or something. The name annoys me.

Shrek The Third

I actually laughed. A waaaay better than Shrek 2.

Reeker

Why, why, why the hell did they have to actually point the details in the ending as if EVERYONE didn't already realize what happened. And I'm pretty damn sure they used exactly the same set as in Identity.

Good material. Especially the jumping through the mirror -part made me laugh. Check it out.

Reaping

I fell asleep before half of the movie was gone. I really did fall asleep. And it was around 7 pm, when I went to see it! I managed to watch the end.. Besides, I never did realize Hilary Swank is a girl. Creepy. The ending, however seems to have been copied of several other films in which !!SPOILER!! The character ends up impregnated with some devil seed !!SPOILER!!..

Return to the House on Haunted Hill

Shit, shit shit shitshitshitshitshitshit. Who the hell actually PAID these actors?

Monday

1408 & Resident Evil: Extinction

We went to see 1408 yesterday. I liked it. I liked it very much, especially the end. The woman has a priceless expression on her face. Go see it and you know what I mean ;)

We also saw Extinction. Which I liked. I just loved the way it ended! I have to keep my fingers crossed to see Milla yet in another Resident Evil. No one else than Milla can be Alice, in my opinion..

Go see. Could be worth your money...

Sunday

Night Owl

The tune of the day for the hunk of the year:

Now playing: Sander Van Doorn - By Any Demand. Go, listen to it before it starts playing on MTV and all the shabby "clubs" you wouldn't dare show your face in..

By the way.. I'm sure I've forgotten something, I'm getting a hammering headache and I've becoming some kind of a night owl, since it's 3:26 am, I haven't been clubbing and I'm still awake.

Oh, and I went to see Die Hard 4.0 yesterday. Despite of all the "wrong" information given there (about servers and stuff and over-gloryfying the hacking thing), I loved the flick. I can honestly say that I think this is the best of the Die Hards. And the evil hacker king... aaw, what a cutie pie..

Bruce Willis, dude, you're still the man!

Oh, and I checked what makes a person a fan. And I'm not. It's not my fault, that my inner whatever likes to keep Jensen (or Ewan) a regular visitor in my dreams. The reason I have Jensen's photos in my blog is that he's cute. I'm not dreaming of marrying him, or dating him, or seeing him IRL.

Girls, he might be a total dick and he'd probably date only pure homegrown texas silicone implanted botoxed 22-year-old I'm-a-model. That's what they all do. Except Ashton Kutcher who married his grandmother :)

Wednesday

Movies

Have you even seen a movie that really effects your thoughts and feelings for a moment? In 1993, I saw Schindler's List. It was like, what, three hours long? When I went in, the sun was shining and it was windy. When I came out everything had turned to grey and it was raining. My friend said she felt as if the "angels were crying". I totally won't go see Hotel Rwanda.

Yesterday J didn't remember the Women's day, so I went out with my friend for a coffee and finally ended up playing a touch-monitor game in a smokey restaurant, sipping ice water and laughing our asses out. Of course J wasn't so pleased when I spent hours there (I guess I should have been home in his mind) and a big load of money for bad coffee and the game machine as well.

It's a perfect sunny weather outside. Maybe I'll go for a stroll before going to classes.

Oh, and yesterday I learned what is "College Rock". The tune of the moment is a good example.

Tune of the moment:
3 Doors Down - Let Me Go

Tuesday

Still NON-Gyllenhaalic.

Sometimes you just know when the day is going to be perfect.

I woke up and just knew.

The good things about today are definetly the dream I had last night, the wintery scene outside and the fact that I had the cutest SMS waiting for me when I finally got up. Now, I should have gone to school but when the alarm rang I just couldn't tear myself up. Because I was watching the best movie ever - a dream starring me and Jake Gyllenhaal. He is a) friggin' gorgeous, b) soo handsome c) not a very good actor. But in my dream he was. It's funny, how some dreams are just so realistic that you wake up a little confused, like "where the hell did HE go?" And the best part of the dream was that he wasn't an actor in it, but a reqular john working in his dads' firm. And I knew he was Jake Gyllenhaal, but it never occured me in that dream that soon he'll have to walk in front of the camera and be someone else. Funny.

The cutest part of the dream was definitely was when we were making out and his dad came and we were kind of embarassed -as if we were teenagers. The feelings in that dream were so real I started thinking that if dreams are really for us to have something we can't, just once. And how can a human body reflect the feelings that it has never felt before - like winning in the lottery - how can one have that exploding happiness -feeling if one has never won anyting. Just minutes before I woke up - I think- I had go home for awhile and when I returned there, his sister - Maggie- came and gave me a hug but I had missed him so much I couldn't see anyone else but him. And that welcome kiss was so full of pain and relief and..

I wonder if there's something wrong with me - I tend to be so reliant on my dreams. A bad dream can spoil a day, a good one can make it seem perfect.

But hey, I'm still a non-Gyllenhaalic. I'm not a fan. Fans are people who watch his films over and over again and talk about him to people and collect the posters and stuff. I just have him in my dreams, but it seems to me that he in my dreams is really someone else, someone I don't know but is there and he's giving the face for him - as if being the new DreamGuy of mine.

Oh, and In Real Life, I'm very, very confused. One day - like the day before yesterday- J means the world to me and on a day like today I wish I had the strength to pack my stuff and leave. But I know that if I leave him I'll never have anyone who can make me laugh like him and be my best friend. And I know he's so weak right now that if I leave he'll stop living. And he thinks the same way about me. No solution then.
