Wait! They Ate What? Take a Picture!

So I happened to pop by at People.com

They had made news of what some whatsitsnames ate. Who the poo cares? If I go to a celebrity site I want to know who's making a new album, who dropped out of movie -  or what horrid clothes we might expect H&M launch next fall, but this? Is it really all about where they spent their vacation, what they ate and who were they out with? I just don't get it.

I found a site that mainly centers on female celebs and their bodies. I don't know what men think and I'm sure they enjoy watching a well-formed body, but I don't consider an anorexic body anything more that hideous.

I read that a female athlete was publicly humiliated by some idiot who claimed she's fat. That girl has zero percent overweight. I'm sure there are a bunch of fifteen-year-olds throwing up because of that right about now.  That's sick. Even if it's coming out of your opposition.

I'm sure most brits already noticed the pictures of girls that didn't know how to dress for winter. There was this one pic of a girl passed out on snow. It was supposed to show how stupid she was, not dressing up properly for winter, but all I noticed that she was already frostbitten and the photog took a pic instead of helping her up and to warmth! That is so sick.

There was this incident with people taking pictures instead of helping: The guy died. What the fuck is wrong with people today?

And a completely different subject: me.

My sleeping pattern is.. well.. gone scrambled. I go to bed at six am and wake up at 2 pm. It's because I don't have to go anywhere. I have been trying to stay awake until next evening but being almost 29 it doesn't go so well as it did when I was 19... Or I try going to bed by 10 pm and just stay in bed until I fall asleep. Most nights I'll lay in bed for seven hours, then give up.. Is this insomnia? Sub-somnia? Or am I just so much a night person..?

What The F Is Wrong With People?

I just saw a documentary about the man who was pregnant.

They wanted a baby. They got one.

What's the problem?

Oh, the fact that Thomas used to be a woman?

I have always seen homosexuality as a line of code in genes, not a mental disorder or something criminal. This is the same thing, something in the code (and no, I'm not a programmer/coder): He was born a man, but his genes produced a female body. It's not a miracle, it's not gross, it's just something that had different boolean values. Nature has done some other weird stuff, so why would a man growing inside a female body be gross? I don't get it.

Don't think of me gay happy. I'm not. I see mother-father (even if hormonally produced) families as the default ones, and I don't approve homosexual couples adopting children. Not because it would be awfully wrong, but because there are people like the ones who keep on harassing Thomas and Nancy Beatie. Beatie's daughter will so be bullied at school and it pains me.

Just thinking..

Rude Internet Part 2

Remember This Post?

Well, obviously someone from the forum (I spoke of) ended up in this blog. As a result, my account on that forum was suspended. I just had the best laugh ever. Touchy little people.. It's a shame I can't reply to all of the comments I received about myself there...

On a game mod forum (not Sims this time), I found probably the meanest person ever. Someone asked for level designing help and this person offered a very offensive answer that made me angry. Then I searched for all of his posts and found out that of the tens of posts he made, he had not made one nice one. It was all about mocking other people's thoughts, skills and suggestions. What does he gain from that? I don't understand.

Rude Internet

For four years,

I have not visited a forum that would have polite people on it.

Anything you say these days, someone soon says "Google it" or "read the f****n manual" or "get out of here n00b".. They obviously think they're so cool. I don't think it's cool. I never write offensive answers to someone's post. They didn't want to search, so they tried to get a straightforward answer. They don't need to be told to "Google it", they probably have heard it once or twice. Sometimes I don't bother googling it but go and seek for the answer. Maybe someone has a better answer that could be found on Google results?

I said I never write offensive stuff on any forums, but today I made an exception. I have probably found the most obnoxious forum filled with matter-of-fact adults who think they know everything, thus being able to be rude to anyone who doesn't read every topic and every post, like they do. I even strutted a lie or two just to see if they catch it and WHOAA.. I already received an answer calling me "poor rich girl". Now that they "know" I'm a spoiled daddy's girl, they seem to have even more right "putting me to my place". One woman even felt the spike when I wrote I hope they don't have kids if their parents are like that. She got very upset explaining she has taught her kids to do their own research. I didn't bother to tell her that I've done my share of research and I actually do that, but this was a matter of a thing I needed to be done for me because I can't. Not finding information. It's hilarious, actually. I think most of the people on that forum are Americans. The Americans I know, are not like that. They are calm, polite, patient and are not so willing to make their own appearance bigger. The rest of them.. well, world politics is a very good indicator for the state of the rest.

I won't tell which forum, I think they know who they are.

I've been doing my own research on forums and according to my findings, the Northen Americans are the rudest (yes, even Canadians). Then there's - of course - the Finns (who are very rude, use bad language and spoil most of the online games), then I'd vote for Germans (who are the rudest online players) and then probably the French. Indonesian people (though there's a signigiciant lack of language skills), are usually very nice and patient. The British have gone up on this list a great deal, maybe because their new found anonymity (freedom) is the "in thing" today.

Misunderstandings are a common thing. For an example, a friend of mine went on a forum and wrote about his teachers. What he wrote, was very comprehensible to himself, but as he later found out, someone had misunderstood the point in the message and he got hundreds of angry replies.

The funny thing when going through the forums is the noticeable un-willingless to help anybody. Or even try. I have been a regular visitor on a Swedish The Sims 2 - board and have noticed that if someone is in very desperate need of information, most of them use "Go Google you noob and stop wasting our time". Would it be easier to actually use that time that was spent on that sentence, to answer the question? I have probably written the same answer 300 times last year, but I don't mind. I like to share my information or at least try look for the answer. It will teach them to help others as well. At least it helps to prod them to the right direction.

As most of the few people who read this blog, know, that I'm not into religions and stuff, but there's one thing about the Bible that I look up to, and it's "Do onto others as you would want done onto you".

It's today's adults that grow up tomorrows' kids - and what will they end like if their parents forget the rule of being patient and polite? At this moment, I'm glad I'm not here to see the next century, when there has been a couple of rude and selfish generations.

Shopping Cart

People can buy really weird stuff.

Would you like to have one of these:

Tactical Travel Mug
Made of hight density insulated plastic with tapered bottom to properly secure in your car cup holder.

Blackhawk Tactical Caffeine Transfer Unit
Easy to grab, extra large handle for a more secure 3 finger grip.

Siren Alarm Clock
A large blue police light + alarm. Guaranteed wake-up call.

It's funny how the Internet has changed our lives. I would've never thought of buying Monopoly U.S. Military version in 1999. And I never thought I could order my DVD's from the UK. That's so weird and I'm thinking I really don't want to see the year 2060. I like it the way it is now.
